Turkish Airlines was named “Europe’s Best Airline Company” for the fourth consecutive year on Tuesday, according to Skytrax’s 2014 passenger evaluations.
The airline, which offers “Flying Chef” luxury meals to business class passengers on long flights, was ranked “World’s Best Business Class Airline Catering” and “World’s Best Business Class Airline Lounge Dining” in 2014.
The awards were announced at the Farnborough Airshow, in Hampshire, in southern England. Skytrax top manager Edward Plaisted presented the award to Turkish Airlines’ General Director, Temel Kotil.
Skytrax is a U.K-based airline rating company that determines the best according to passenger satisfaction surveys.
Turkish Airlines received four stars in 2007 for passenger satisfaction and high-quality service after Skytrax’s evaluations. The airlines became “Southern Europe’s Best Airline Company” in 2009 and “Europe’s Best Airline Company” in 2011.
The airline's goal is to become the world’s best by investing in new routes, acquiring more airplanes and increasing its number of employees.
The basketball star Kobi Bryant and the football player Lionel Messi are among the latest celebrities to take part in the company’s advertisements.
