Thailand and Cambodia on Saturday reaffirmed their commitment to peace along the border after last month’s clashes left dozens dead and injured.

At the Extraordinary Regional Border Committee meeting, Cambodia’s Military Region 3 and Thailand’s Chanthaburi–Trat Border Defense Command agreed to improve communication, reduce tensions, and form a coordinating group in the disputed area, Cambodia’s Office of the Council of Ministers said in a statement.

The meeting, held in Thailand, also addressed humanitarian demining and cross-border online scams.

On July 28, during a trilateral meeting with Malaysia’s prime minister, the two neighbors agreed to an unconditional ceasefire following weeks of hostilities.

Both sides later endorsed a 13-point agreement on Aug. 7, which included allowing ASEAN observers to monitor the ceasefire along the contested border.
