WASHINGTON

US President Donald Trump on Thursday hailed Brown University, which reached a $50 million deal with the White House to unfreeze funding.

"Congratulations to Brown University on the settlement made with the United States Government.

"There will be no more Anti-Semitism, or Anti-Christian, or Anti-Anything Else! Woke is officially DEAD at Brown," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

It came one day after the university announced it reached a deal after months of negotiations on its frozen medical and health sciences funding, becoming the third Ivy League school in a month to reach an agreement with the Trump administration, following the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University.

Brown President Christina Paxson said the school agreed to pay $50 million to workforce development organizations in Rhode Island over 10 years as part of the deal.

"The University's foremost priority throughout discussions with the government was remaining true to our academic mission, our core values and who we are as a community at Brown,” she said.

Paxson said the agreement “preserves the integrity of Brown’s academic foundation, and it enables us as a community to move forward after a period of considerable uncertainty.”

Brown has been among the hardest hit since administration officials announced in April their plans to withhold $510 million in federal funding from the university.

Trump said Wednesday that Harvard University "would like to settle" the administration's funding dispute with the prestigious institution, as negotiations reportedly center on a $500 million payment.
