JEDDAH
Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), made a call to Nouri al- Maliki government to ensure the security and stability in Iraq.
Ihsanoglu expressed his concerns about the deteriorating political situation in Iraq and called on the Maliki government to ensure the security and stability in the country, in a written statement on Monday.
"There must be common effort and the national reconciliation must be provided to prevent the escalating violence in the country," Ihsanoglu addressed to political and religious leaders in Iraq.
Ihsanoglu flew to Doha, capital of Qatar, to attend the 24th Summit of the Arab League.
The summit will be held on March 26-27.
