CAIRO
Chief of General Staff of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) Selim Idris on Monday announced he would not attend the Arab League Summit to be held in Doha, Qatar on March 26 and 27.
Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), Idris said that "we need to follow closely the military operations in Syria's west and south. I decided not to participate in the Arab League Summit due to the current circumstances".
Idris said he was planning to attend the Arab League Summit after receiving an invitation from the Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces but that he changed his mind due to the incidents taking place in Syria.
The Arab League Summit will take place in Doha on March 26 and 27. President of the Syrian National Coalition, Moaz al-Khatib, will attend the Summit and deliver a speech on behalf of the Syrian people.
