Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu met Monday with members of the US congress on Capitol Hill at a reception hosted by the Turkish Coalition of America in cooperation with co-chairs of the Turkey Caucus: Virginia Foxx and Ed Whitfield.
“I’m very happy to be in Washington, DC. I’m very happy to be in the company of our American friends. I hope that our cooperation will continue in to the future. Turkey has always been trying to be part of civilized nations. This is a struggle we’ve been carrying out for the past two hundred years, and I do believe that we will be successful,” said Kilicdaroglu.
Attending Monday evening were Congresswomen Virginia Foxx, and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and Congressmen Ed Whitfield Steve Stockman, Walter Jones, Mark Meadows, Luke Messer and Steve Chabot.
“We understand the importance of the opposition party. Tonight we are fortunate to have with us the members of the Republican People’s Party of Turkey,” said Congressmen Whitfield.
