Ukraine has received more than €193 billion ($223 billion) in assistance from the EU and its member states since the war with Russia started in February 2022, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said Tuesday.

She said Europe’s financial support helped Kyiv “endure” the war and “stay on the path of reform.”

Yulia Svyrydenko said international support and the swift unblocking of the EU loan are critically important for Ukraine’s defense planning and the country’s resilience in the face of wartime threats.

“We have now received the final benchmarks for all clusters and are integrating them into the National Program for the Adoption of EU Law, which we will approve in the near future. We are continuing to implement all the reforms required,” she wrote on the US social media platform X.

Svyrydenko said Ukraine needs to deepen cooperation with its European partners and “strengthen energy independence together.”

“Ukraine is ready to share its experience of keeping the energy system functioning in wartime. We have already begun preparations for the next heating season and are restructuring the country’s energy system under the Regional Resilience Plans,” she said.
