A Turkish charity group has provided food packages for thousands of people in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

Some 8,000 Palestinian people have received food packages from the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) in August, said the group said Tuesday.

In a statement, the Istanbul-based foundation also decried the continuing humanitarian crisis all over Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip, which has been under Israeli blockade since 2006.

The IHH's aid work for Palestine continues without interruption, the statement said.

Israel’s 11-year blockade of the Gaza Strip has gutted the coastal enclave’s economy and deprived its 2 million inhabitants of many basic commodities, including medicine and medical equipment.
