Türkiye’s Council of Higher Education says recognition process is completed following contacts between relevant institutions
ANKARA / ISTANBUL
Syria has recognized the diplomas of graduates from Turkish universities operating in northern regions of the country, the head of Türkiye’s Council of Higher Education said Monday.
“The process regarding recognition by Syria of the diplomas of students who graduated from Turkish universities operating in northern regions of Syria has been positively concluded as a result of contacts carried out between the relevant institutions,” Erol Ozvar said on Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
Ozvar said the decision to establish a specialized commission under Syria’s Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry to recognize the diplomas of graduates from Gaziantep University and the University of Health Sciences and to regularize students’ academic status is important for protecting rights and safeguarding academic achievements.
He also thanked Marwan al-Halabi, Syria’s higher education and scientific research minister, for his understanding and cooperation.
