Danish wind energy company Vestas received an order for wind turbines totaling 33 megawatts capacity in Austria, the company announced on Friday.
Vestas said that the turbines will be supplied to the Sommerein wind power plant in Lower Austria, the northeastern most state of the nine states in Austria.
Austrian company Evn Naturkraft Erzeugungsgesellschaft placed the order and wind turbine delivery and commissioning is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2018.
"To achieve the lowest cost of energy at the Sommerein site, Evn naturkraft Erzeugungsgesellschaft needed a customized wind solution,” said Nils de Baar, president of Vestas Central Europe, adding that Vestas' versatile 3-megawatt platform enables that through different hub heights and rotor diameters, offering superior annual energy production for the site.
