Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 12% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 744,276 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 33,708 megawatt-hours at 14.00 local time (1100 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 25,757 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 738,699 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 14.6% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from hydro power plants constituted 20.2% of total generation, while natural gas and imported lignite plants contributed 17.5% and 16.7%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 8,930 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 14,508 megawatt-hours.
