Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 7.7% to 677,086 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 31,903 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,874 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 669,504 megawatt-hours on Thursday with a 7.5% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 194,194 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river plants followed with 135,322 megawatt-hours and 102,079 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 2,871 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,453 megawatt-hours.
