Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 15.2% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 780,728 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 38,152 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,533 megawatt-hours at 04.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 791,218 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 15.8% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 33.39% of total electricity consumption on Monday, imported coal plants held a 21.83% share while lignite plants comprised 13.97%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,557 megawatt-hours while imports reached 66 megawatt-hours.
