Türkiye's total oil imports increased by 11.08% to 3.58 million tons in February 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, according to recent data released by the country's energy watchdog on Tuesday.
Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, rose by 12.22% in February to 2.26 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.
Türkiye imported the majority of its oil and oil product needs from Russia in February, totaling 1.46 million tons. Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia followed with 252,985 tons and 142,005 tons, respectively.
Oil refinery product exports surged by 24.01% to 1.01 million tons, while output also increased by 25.85% to 2.83 million tons.
Additionally, domestic oil product sales fell by 2.13% year over year in February to 2.10 million tons.
