Türkiye's total oil imports increased by 2.2% to 4.29 million tons in April compared to the same month in 2024, according to recent data released by the country's energy watchdog on Friday.
Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, rose by 5% in April to 2.88 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.
Türkiye imported the majority of its crude oil and oil product needs from Russia in April, totaling 2.91 million tons. Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia followed with 300,711 tons and 288,211 tons, respectively.
Total exports in the oil market decreased by 1.1%, reaching 1.38 million tons.
Additionally, total domestic oil product sales increased by 5.8% year-over-year in April to 2.66 million tons.
