Since becoming operational in 2006, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline has transported approximately 4.6 billion barrels (605 million tons) of crude oil to Türkiye’s Ceyhan port, bp Azerbaijan announced on Thursday.
In the first half of 2025, the pipeline delivered around 106 million barrels (13 million tons) of oil, the company said in a statement.
The 1,768 kilometer-long BTC pipeline serves as the main transport route for oil produced at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field, running from Baku, Azerbaijan, through Georgia to the deep-water port facilities at Ceyhan, Türkiye, on the Mediterranean Sea.
The pipeline also occasionally carries oil from Russia, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.
