Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 13.8% on Monday compared to the previous day, reaching 848,024 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,313 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,976 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 850,210 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 14.8% decrease from Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 38.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 14.2%, while lignite plants held a 13.3% share.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,902 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,958 megawatt-hours.
