Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.2% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 784,099 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time, reaching 37,263 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,184 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 793,855 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 8% decrease from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from hydroelectricity power plants constituted 20.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 15.9%, while lignite plants held a 14.3% share.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,458 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,243 megawatt-hours.
