Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 17.86 % on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 803,910 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 38,773 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT) and the country's electricity consumption fell to 25,327 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 786,074 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 16.71% compared to Sunday.
Imported coal plants contributed 29.7% of total generation, while natural gas plants and lignite power plants contributed 19.6% and 16.4%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 12,764 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 30,601 megawatt-hours.
