Artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation and international media cooperation will be discussed at a dedicated MediaForum on the sidelines of the 17th International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum" on May 12-17.
The main theme of the forum will be "The Code of Heritage: The Digital Evolution of Meaning."
Discussions will focus on the impact of new technologies, including AI, on journalism and society. Participants will also address which AI tools are already being used in media, how they are transforming content and what social and ethical challenges this transformation creates.
Representatives of international organizations, public and financial institutions, embassy officials, politicians, investors and businesspeople will attend the forum, where Anadolu serves as the global communication partner.
The MediaForum will bring together journalists, bloggers and media managers from various countries to discuss current trends in the media sector, practical solutions and future cooperation frameworks.
The event is organized by the "Russia – Islamic World" Strategic Vision Group and Tatmedia, the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications of Tatarstan, with support from the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
- Media plays key role in building trust, officials say
Marat Gatin, assistant to the head of the Republic of Tatarstan and deputy chairman of the "Russia – Islamic World" Strategic Vision Group, said media today is not only a channel for sharing news but also a tool for building trust between countries.
"Media forums of this kind help professional communities hold open dialogue, find common ground and respond more quickly to contemporary challenges," Gatin said.
Aidar Salimgaraev, head of Tatmedia, said the media landscape is rapidly changing as tools, formats and approaches to content production evolve.
- International media cooperation to be in focus
The plenary session, titled "Media Cooperation: Russia – The Islamic World," will be the main session of the event. Participants will exchange views on changes in the media landscape and forms of international cooperation currently needed in the sector.
A press tour of Tatarstan's major enterprises will also be organized for participants to introduce the republic's industrial potential.
Representatives from leading media outlets in the Islamic world, including Anadolu Agency, Oman Journalists' Association, Egypt's MENA news agency, Tunisian News Agency and Indonesia’s national news agency Antara, are also expected to attend.
More than 40 media representatives from the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia are expected to take part in the MediaForum.
