The annual "Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum," focused on strengthening ties between Russia and the Islamic world will be held in Kazan, the capital of Russia's Republic of Tatarstan, on May 12-17.
The international economic summit, aims to strengthen trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural ties between Russia and the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
First held in 2009 between Russia and OIC countries, the forum will take place for the 17th time this year.
Representatives of international organizations, public and financial institutions, embassy officials, politicians, investors and businesspeople will attend the forum, where Anadolu serves as the global communication partner.
The forum will host various events on topics including Islamic finance, the halal industry, international cooperation and women's perspectives.
"Modest Fashion Day" event, where the latest innovations in Islamic fashion will be showcased, will feature a multi-brand modest fashion show combining elements of folklore, traditional culture and innovative design.
Designers will present collections for modest fashion by blending national motifs, cultural heritage and current global trends. The event, which last year hosted designers from Indonesia, Qatar, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Tajikistan and Russia, is expected to feature a wider range of menswear collections this year.
Taliya Minullina, member of the forum's Federal Organizing Committee and head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, said "Modest Fashion Day" is an international platform contributing to the development of the sector.
Minullina said the event would be an important part of KazanForum's cultural program, adding that collections by designers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and the Russian cities of Kazan, Ufa and Chelyabinsk would be presented at the show.
The forum will further explore practices in participation finance, a system that promotes sustainable development and fosters international cooperation.
