Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 12.7% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 999,020 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,530 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,844 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,003,092 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 12.3% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 24.8% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 19% and 15%, respectively.
On Monday, he country's electricity exports totaled 7,984 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,398 megawatt-hours.
