Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 15.5% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 920,233 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,839 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,847 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 917,004 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of 14.9% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.4% and lignite plants comprised 15.3%.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 14,626 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,841 megawatt-hours.
