Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 4.7% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 994,629 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,048 megawatt-hours at 4 p.m. local time (1300 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,775 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 986,943 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a decrease of 4.7% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas constituted 31.2% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 23.6% and 12%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 5,811 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 13,497 megawatt-hours.
