Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 3.5% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 930,886 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,190 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,524 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 929,174 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 2.7% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21% while hydroelectricity plants comprised 16.1%.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 14,330 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,043 megawatt-hours.
