Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.63% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 890,478 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 43,238 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,799 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 897,831 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.95% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 33.3% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 21.84% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 14.08%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,233 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,880 megawatt-hours.
