Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.1% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 941,645 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 45,750 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,870 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 948,722 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 2.1% increase from Wednesday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32.9% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants held a 18.6% share, while imported coal plants comprised 19.9%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,706 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,968 megawatt-hours.
