Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.85% to 840,293 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 39,088 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,531 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 838,802 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with a 1.74% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity at 222,026 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river hydroelectricity followed with 166,674 megawatt-hours and 108,116 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,755 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,246 megawatt-hours.
