Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.59% to 808,027 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 37,165 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,604 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 800,603 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.98% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 198,250 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and natural gas plants followed with 157,849 megawatt-hours and 128,669 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,069 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,493 megawatt-hours.
