Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.5% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 778,757 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 37,589 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,419 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 788,924 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 1.4% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 34.7% of total electricity consumption on Tuesday, imported coal plants held a 21.9% share while hydroelectricity plants comprised 15%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,743 megawatt-hours while imports reached 575 megawatt-hours.
