Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.92% to 703,516 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 33,840 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,397 megawatt-hours at local time 08.00.
Total electricity production reached 696,658 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.12% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 173,436 megawatt-hours. Lignite and hydroelectricity plants followed with 126,882 megawatt-hours and 123,979 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,814 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,672 megawatt-hours.
