Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 8.38% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 853,222 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time, reaching 39,328 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,614 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 856,677 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 8.29% decrease from Friday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.31% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 18.24% share, while wind energy power plants comprised 14.22%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,206 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 811 megawatt-hours.
