Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 7.12% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 799,123 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time, reaching 38,852 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,489 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 809,447 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 6.84% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 36.82% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 24.03% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 14.37%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,164 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,840 megawatt-hours.
