Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 7% to 755,196 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 35,904 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,831 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 751,955 megawatt-hours on Saturday with a 7% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 194,560 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and lignite plants followed with 182,008 megawatt-hours and 102,300 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,228 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,469 megawatt-hours.
