Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 3.9% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 857,862 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 40,034 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,356 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 864,686 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 3.2% decrease from Friday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 27.2% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 21.1%, while lignite power plants held a 13.2% share.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,624 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,838 megawatt-hours.
