Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 2.25% to 869,438 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, according to official figures of Turkey's Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time with 41,419 megawatt-hours, data from EXIST showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 29,571 megawatt-hours at 04.00.
Total electricity production reached 873,706 megawatt-hours on Wednesday with a 2.35% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants at 252,249 megawatt-hours.
Imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants followed with 200,462 megawatt-hours and 171,104 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,805 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,667 megawatt-hours.
