Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.78% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 806,684 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time, reaching 38,793 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,737megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 819,273 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 0.48% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 37.10% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 23.84% share while lignite plants comprised 13.81%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,888 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 299 megawatt-hours.
