Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.7% on Friday compared to the previous day, reaching 867,169 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time at 41,288 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,389 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 871,196 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.72% decrease from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34.5% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity plants comprised 15.4%, while imported coal plants held a 13.7% share.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,524 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,657 megawatt-hours.
