Syrian Minister of Defense, Daud Rajihah, was killed in Damascus on Wednesday in a blast, said the Syrian state-run television.
The attack was staged during a council of ministers meeting at the National Security building.
A number of officials were wounded in the blast, the Syrian television also said.
Syrian deputy chief of general staff killed in blast
The Syrian Deputy Chief of General Staff and al-Assad's brother-in-law, Assef Shawkat, was killed in a blast on Wednesday, the Syrian state-run television reported.
Shawkat was killed when a attack was staged during a meeting of the National Security Council in Damascus.
Earlier in the day, the Syrian state television also reported that Syrian Minister of Defense, Daud Rajihah, was also killed in Damascus in today's blast.
Interior minister among those killed in Damascus suicide blast
Syrian Minister of the Interior, Muhammad Ibrahim al-Sha'ar, was among those killed in a Damascus blast on Wednesday.
Syrian state television said that al-Sha'ar lost his life when a attack was staged on a building hosting a meeting of the Syrian National Security Council on Wednesday.
At least five people were killed in the blast, including the Syrian Deputy Chief of General Staff and al-Assad's brother-in-law, Assef Shawkat, as well as Minister of Defense, Daud Rajihah, the Syrian state television reported earlier in the day.
Assad's special envoy Turkmani killed in blast
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's special envoy Hasan Turkmani was killed in Wednesday's blast which took place in Damascus.
Turkmani was killed when a bomber attacked a building in which a meeting of the Syrian National Security Council was taking place.
Syrian Minister of the Interior, Muhammad Ibrahim al-Sha'ar, was among those killed in the Damascus blast on Wednesday.
