CAIRO
Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has condemned the attack which killed Mohammad Said Ramadan al Buti, a leading Islamic scholar in Damascus.
"We condemn the attack against Iman Mosque which killed tens of innocent Syrians and Islamic scholar Mohammad Said Ramadan al Buti. Acts against holy places and human life demonstrate the dangers of terror," said the OIC in a written declaration.
Ihsanoglu called on international community into action against the terror.
In the suicide bomb attack against Iman Mosque on March 21, 42 Syrians were killed including al-Buti. The Syrian regime claimed the attack on the opposition whereas the latter charged the former, stating that the attack was done inside the regime-controlled area.
