WASHINGTON
Secretary John Kerry will travel next week to Egypt, Qatar, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam where he will hold bilateral talks, the State Department said Monday.
Kerry will co-chair the U.S.-Egypt Strategic Dialogue with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Aug. 2. The leaders will discuss a broad range of economic, political, security and cultural issues.
In Doha, Qatar, Kerry will meet with the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council before traveling to Singapore where he will have an audience with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Foreign Minister Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam to discuss bilateral and regional issues as Singapore marks 50 years of independence.
Kerry is also scheduled to deliver a speech on the importance of U.S. trade and investment to prosperity in the East Asia region and the United States.
While in Malaysia from Aug. 4-6, Kerry will attend the ASEAN Regional Forum, where he will participate in multilateral meetings, after which he will visit Vietnam to round out his trip.
In Hanoi, he will meet with senior Vietnamese officials to discuss bilateral and regional issues.
