Bahrain sends new aid plane to quake victims in Türkiye

MANAMA, Bahrain

Bahrain has dispatched a new plane loaded with humanitarian aid to the victims of last month’s deadly earthquakes that killed thousands in Türkiye.

The Turkish Embassy in Manama tweeted that the plane that landed in Gaziantep airport in southern Türkiye was the third to have been sent by Bahrain to the quake victims.

More than 47,900 people were killed in Türkiye by earthquakes that struck on Feb. 6, according to official figures.

More than 13 million people in Türkiye have been affected by the powerful quakes that rocked 11 provinces, including Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, Elazig, and Sanliurfa.
