Turkish dailies on Wednesday covered the a fire which broke out in Istanbul's Galatasaray University, Turkey's soccer club Galatasaray's new contract signed with Dutch player Wesley Sneijder, and Omer Guney who was arrested in France as he was a prime suspect in the killing of three Kurdish women in Paris. The Anadolu Agency does not verify these stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.
All Turkish dailies covered the news story of the only suspect of the killings of three Kurdish women. The suspect, Omer Guney was arrested regarding the killing of three Kurdish women and that the incident may have occurred because of an internal conflict. Daily VATAN headlined, "Who is this Omer?" and stated, "French call him the murder suspect, PKK terrorist organization call him a secret agent who infiltrated in the organization, and according to his family he has tumour in his brain. His family also said: "We are Turkish, there will not be PKK supporters between us." Turkish dailies covered the stories and published documents about Omer Guney.
All of the dailies covered the fire which broke out at Galatasaray University in Istanbul. Daily YENI SAFAK headlined, "Pearl of the Bosphorus in flames", and added that a fire broke out in the 142 years old building in Ortakoy campus due to faulty electric cables. After 4 hours of struggle, firefighters took the fire under control. The third floor of the building was badly damaged and many historical books were burnt down, according to daily YENI SAFAK.
Most of the Turkish dailies covered the new arrival of the Dutch football player Wesley Sneijder, who made an agreement with Turkish soccer team, Galatasaray. According to Turkish dailies that Galatasaray will pay 15.5 million euros to Sneijder for three and a half years. Galatasaray signed the contract with 28-year-old midfielder on Tuesday.
