Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey would continue supporting peace and stability in Africa as well as contributing to relief efforts when needed.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Senegalese counterpart Abdoul Myabe after a bilateral meeting in the Turkish capital, Ankara, Erdogan said Senegal was one of the most important players in Africa to protect peace and stability with a democratic parliamentary regime and a stable political system.
Erdogan said Senegalese premier paid his first-ever foreign trip to Turkey since his election, which he said showed the importance Myabe attached to relations with Turkey.
Erdogan said Turkey and Senegal had deep rooted relations, adding that Turkey was the one of first countries to open an embassy in the country.
Turkish premier said within the past decade the Turkish government had opened 24 new embassies in Africa to bring the total number of highest Turkish foreign missions in the continent to 34.

"We can do better. We want to increase Turkish investments in our country alongside our developing political relations," Myabe told reporters.
