IZMIR
Turkey's EXPO 2020 candidate city Izmir's nomination file was submitted to the SG of the International Exhibitions Bureau (IEB) Vicente Gonzales Loscertales in Paris.
According to a statement by EXPO 2020 Izmir General Secretariat, 656-page nomination file was handed in by Turkey's Ambassador in Paris Tahsin Burcuoglu, EXPO 2020 Izmir SG Erguder Can and deputy SG Zeynep Solak Tansug.
Receiving the file, Loscertales was reported to have wished good luck for Izmir.
Nomination file is prepared a year ahead of the voting which will be held next year in November.
Izmir will compete with Russia's Yekaterinburg, Thailand's Ayutthaya, Brazil's Sao Paulo, and the United Arab Emirates' Dubai.
