BRUSSELS
According to the data by NATO, 28 NATO countries have 3.5 million military personnel. The United States was the first largest military power with 1.4 million military personnel, while Turkey is the second with 720,000 military personnel.
In 2011, the United States has made the highest defense expenditures with 731.9 billion USD. It was followed by Britain with $63.6 billion, France with $53.4 billion, Germany with $48.1 billion, Italy with $30.2 billion, Canada with $23.7 billion and Turkey with $14.5 billion.
