ANKARA
Seven out of 75 people detained over fraud in a 2010 nationwide civil service recruitment exam were released Thursday, officials have said.
The remaining suspects are still under custody for questioning by the prosecutor’s office in Ankara.
Hasan Bahri Aksoy, one of the lawyers standing for the detained suspects, slammed the prosecutor’s office over its statements which he said described his clients as "culprits."
"Investigation phase is announced as if it were a finalized court ruling," said Aksoy, adding that he would file a complaint against those responsible.
On Monday, Ankara prosecutor ordered the detention of 82 people for being allegedly involved in cheating in the annual Public Personnel Selection Examination, known by the initials KPSS, held in 2010 in Turkey.

The Public Personnel Selection Examination is a test taken by civil servant candidates.
The operation was launched in 19 provinces, including capital Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Eskisehir, Sakarya, Isparta, Sivas, Samsun and Bursa. Those detained in other provinces were sent to Ankara for questioning.
