ANKARA
Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz said Wednesday that they would begin oil exploration at the Turk Yurdu-1 oil well in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyrpus (TRNC) on April 26.
Speaking to reporters at the signature ceremony of the Turkish-Montenegrin Joint Economic Committee Meeting in Ankara, Yildiz stressed that, with the licences obtained from the TRNC, Turkey will conduct oil exploration in the TRNC at various locations.
The Turk Yurdu-1 oil well is located in Gazi Magosa.
Turkey intends to begin oil exploration in several spots within the eastern Mediterranean Sea basin.
Turkey-Montenegro Joint Economic Committee meeting takes place in Ankara
Yildiz said on Wednesday that they were eager to increase trade volume between Turkey and Montenegro.
Attending singing ceremony of Turkish-Montenegrin Joint Economic Committee Meeting protocol in Turkish capital of Ankara, Yildiz said that bilateral trade volume has increased in 2011 remarkably but it was not sufficient.
