English Premier League club Arsenal's Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina will be out of action for up to three months due to a thigh problem.

Arsene Wenger, the French manager of the "Gunners," said in a press conference Wednesday that backup goalkeeper Ospina's injury at his previous club Nice had reappeared.

He said: "He had his first injury in Nice, a knee problem and I think he was a bit rushed back. He didn't use his legs so his muscle became weaker, then he got injured during the World Cup.

"He came to us injured. It took him two months to play a game. I had to bring him on against Galatasaray without a warm-up, without being prepared and he had a recurrence of that injury."

"That means he is out for two to three months. Now we have to be really careful. It's a long term injury," he added.

Having subbed-in after Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Sczcesny was sent off, Ospina drew attention by making many critical saves during the UEFA Champions League match against Turkish club Galatasaray in London which Arsenal won 4-1.

As Ospina has a major injury problem and Szczesny is suspended, 22-year-old Argentine goalkeeper Damian Emiliano Martinez is set to be selected for the starting 11 for Arsenal's UEFA Champions League game to be played against Belgian club Anderlecht at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium in Brussels Wednesday night.
