ANKARA
Germany drew against Ghana 2-2 in 2014 FIFA World Cup Group G match played at Estadio Castelao, Fortaleza, on Saturday.
After a goalless draw in the first half, the second half started fast as Germany scored the leading goal with their attacker Mario Gotze in the 51st minute, 1-0. Three minutes later Ghana scored the equalizer after Andre Ayew's header, 1-1.
In the 63rd minute Ghana made a comeback when their forward Asamoah Gyan found the net right after receiving a decisive pass, 2-1. Germany did not give up as their forward Miroslav Klose, who got assisted by teammate Benedikt Howedes, tapped the ball at far post in the 71st minute and made the score 2-2. This goal makes Klose equalize the record of former Brazilian striker Ronaldo who was World Cup tournaments' all-time top scorer with 15 goals.
In remaining time both sides tried to score the winning goal many times but the contentious game ended as a draw. Leaders Germany reached 4 points whilst Ghana have one before the third matches.
Meanwhile, Boateng brothers, Jerome playing for Germany and Kevin Prince playing for Ghana, faced each other in the match.
Portugal take on the U.S. rivals in another game in Group G in Manaus.
